The countdown has begun. Chainsmokers are all set to perform at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre on Thursday, January 25 and the crowd filled with excitement.

The Grammy awarded band performance is expected to see a flood of more than 5000 fans. As per the statement released by The Social Studio (TSS) to ‘The Peninsula’ they “…are expecting up to 5,000 attendees. Tickets are selling out fast and with seven more days to go before the concert, our event will be sold out soon,”

The Chainsmokers’ concert is coming fuelled with unique and engaging experiences such as glow-in-the-dark face paint, a personalised engraving station, an Instagram-friendly Photo booth and food along with special offers in neighbouring hotels. The Chainsmokers Middle East concert is one of the major attractions of the ongoing Shop Qatar’ International Week. The Electronic Dance Music Duo gained immense popularity and stardom with their 2014 track ‘#Selfie’ that topper twenty single in several countries. In 2015, the duo made another record by their featured track ‘Roses’ which reached the top 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100 driving towards their major achievement till now, Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for “Don’t Let Me Down”. The other popular tracks that fetched them fame included ‘closer’, ‘collage’ and ‘Memories…Do Not Open’.

Their amazing tracks have lured the crowd making them one of the most viewed YouTube videos generating billions of views. With just their track ‘Closer’ fetching nearly two billion views since it was posted nearly six months ago.

Bolywood week at Shop Qatar

The first week of Shop Qatar 2018 has increased the expectations of the visitors of second week and the list of events suggests that they will not be disappointed.

The organisers have jam packed the second week of Shop Qatar, themed on Bollywood with the following exciting events.

You will not like to miss the glamorous Bollywood Fashion Show scheduled on Wednesday to witness the trending designer wear such as sarees, shalwar suits and lehengas and other fusion traditional wear from Indian subcontinent. The planned event is to have display of 100 designs including work of celebrity designers such including Vikram Phandis, Archana Kochar and Manish Malhotra at the show to be held on Wednesday at 7pm at Mondrian Doha. Comedian Trevor Noah

Famous South African comedian Trevor Noah will perform in Qatar for the first time on Feb. 4, organizers have announced.

Noah, host of The Daily Show, will join several other comedians in performing at the Doha Comedy Festival that runs from Feb. 2 to Feb. 4.

The first night of the festival, which is at the Qatar National Convention Center, will feature Arabic-speaking comedians such as Nemr, Wonho Chung and Mohanad Al-Hattab.

Comedian Bader Saleh

Feb. 3 meanwhile has been dubbed “Khaleeji night,” bringing together comedians from across the Gulf, including Bader Saleh, Ahmad Al-Shammari and Bashar Al-Jazzaf.

Noah will perform on the final night of the festival, alongside British comedian Paul Zerdin, who won America’s Got Talent. “The Qatari Guy” Hamad Al-Amari will open the show that night.

Of the 15 comedians featured in the festival, however, none are women.

Tickets cost QR120 to QR995 for the night Noah is performing and from QR120 to QR495 for the Arabic-only nights.

The comedy shows are part of Shop Qatar, the country’s first monthlong shopping festival.

It kicks off this weekend and aims to woo tourists with discounts on airfare, hotels and merchandise.
