A new low pressure front moving over Qatar this week is expected to cause a brief spike in temperatures, cloudy skies and a chance of rain over the next few days.
According to the Qatar Meteorology Department (MET), thunderstorms could be in the cards from Monday evening to Tuesday night, with strong winds following thereafter.
In a statement, forecasters said that the direction of the wind will cause an “above average” increase in temperatures to above 30C (86F) tomorrow, with “dusty skies over some areas.”
But the good news is that temps will fall again on Tuesday (just in time for the start of the food festival) due to the expected rainfall, the MET added.
Wednesday and Thursday are also expected to be (slightly) cooler, with temperatures of around a maximum of 27C (81F) due to strong winds.
