Vodafone Qatar has blamed “difficult economic conditions, the continued tough competitive situation particularly in prepaid and large declines in handset sales of iPhone 6s” for an 8 percent decline in revenues during the first nine months of its fiscal year.
The telecom firm, which saw CEO Kyle Whitehill depart in December after two years of financial loses, posted a net loss of QR72 million in the telecom’s fiscal third quarter. That brings the company’s losses for the nine-month period ending Dec. 31 to QR286 million, worse than the QR150 million the company lost during the same period a year earlier.
