Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health said the ministry continues to operate around the clock to ensure the readiness of hospitals, health centres, and emergency services across the country.
Qatar’s Minister of Public Health, Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud, said that “the health care sector enjoys a high level of readiness and preparedness. All hospitals and health centres are operating around the clock. Our emergency centres are fully prepared for any urgent incident.”
In an interview with Qatar TV on Wednesday evening, he said the ministry’s operations room continuously monitors hospital preparedness, emergency capacity and patient flow.
“We continuously monitor all figures. Whether it is hospital readiness, capacity plans or emergency response capacity,” he said. “We assess the scale of emergency intake and any changes to it. And we follow this around the clock from the operations room here.”
He added, “The medical and administrative staff in the healthcare sector work 24 hours a day. Daily care services, such as dialysis, children’s vaccinations, and reception at health centres, are ongoing. All services are maintained continuously without interruption.”
The minister said that at the start of the recent emergency, all cases were mild, with minor injuries treated quickly and patients discharged the same day. Only one patient remains in the hospital, he said, in a stable condition and expected to be discharged soon.
He also noted that Qatar maintains an integrated medical supply system and a strategic stockpile sufficient for up to nineteen months, with supply chains monitored to ensure uninterrupted access to medicines and equipment. He added that there is strong coordination with GCC states and that there have been no issues in importing medicine and equipment.
He also stressed that coordination among government entities, including the Civil Defence Council, continues at a high level of professionalism.
