Updated to reflect Turkey will be guest of honor
The annual Qatar International Food Festival will open next month on Tuesday, March 24 and run through Saturday, March 28, the Qatar Tourism Authority has announced.
The event, now in its sixth year, will once again be held at the Museum of Islamic Art Park. In a statement, QTA said that the festival will feature internationally renowned chefs, the latest food trends and healthy eating options.
In a statement, QTA said:
“For the sixth edition of QIFF, the festival has been extended to fill five full days of different activities. It is expected that this will increase the number of visitors, food kiosks, live cooking shows, participants, social media events, engagements, surprises, featured celebrity chefs, and new media partners. The Qatar Turkey ‘Year of Culture’ will be the central feature for this year’s festival.”
Over the past few years, organizers have been experimenting with the best ways to serve the large crowds that turn up for the food fest.

Last year, booths began accepting cash payments, eliminating a voucher system that had left many confused during previous iterations of the event.
Live entertainment has also become a big focus of the five-day affair, as well as options such as “dining in the sky” and in boats in the water.
Opening hours and more information about the food fest are expected to become available in the coming weeks.
Who’s planning to go? Thoughts?
Any word on those “special noodles”? Will they be available also?
Yes please, no more voucher system but cash payment … and try to give more space for certain booths, especially those with a high foot fall …
Yes looking forward for this event, its a great place to be with the family at this event
Is it expensive?
In the previous editions, the entry was free, and you you have a wide variety of food options from all eateries in Qatar from which you may choose to buy and eat 🙂
Food is usually not more than QR20 per dish…pretty affordable especially at the hotel kiosks.
“Updated to reflect Turkey will be guest of honor”
Poor Turkey, gets a special invite, then killed and eaten. Does Qatar have no shame?
Good joke 🙂
This is a good time to get rid of that leftover chicken…Bonne apetit 🙂
And NO parking !!!
Two questions:
-“Turkey” the country or the bird?
-Can any one participate or do you have to be a licensed chef/vendor?
How can I book dining in the sky?
When are opening hours??????
Does anyone know the times for this yet?
