Qatar’s International Media Office has issued a statement denying a Bloomberg report that suggested the Gulf state’s interceptor missile stockpile were depleting.
Qatar has issued a firm rebuttal to a recent Bloomberg report that claimed Qatar’s stock of Patriot interceptor missiles was depleting.
The Bloomberg article had claimed that “Qatar’s stocks of Patriot interceptor missiles will last four days at the current rate of use,” citing an internal analysis.
In an official statement published by the International Media Office on Tuesday, Qatar categorically denied Bloomberg’s assertions, affirming that its Armed Forces remain fully equipped.
“The Qatar Armed Forces have repeatedly demonstrated their capability to defend the nation against external threats and remain at full readiness to protect all citizens, residents, and visitors for as long as necessary,” the statement said.
The statement accused Bloomberg of publishing unverified and inaccurate information, emphasising that such reporting is “deeply irresponsible” given the region’s current sensitive security environment.
The statement added that the International Media Office is considering legal options to ensure the correction of what it described as misinformation.
