So far, May in Qatar has been a month of 40C+ weather, with a bit of sand, wind and clouds mixed in.
But rather than complain about the blazing sun, Qatar residents are taking the high road – by joking about it on Twitter.
Look on the bright side, say some – it’s that time of year when one can make car-baked cookies. Others are pointing out the convenience of being able to wash and then almost immediately dry your clothes in this weather.
Here’s a selection of some of today’s #ItsSoHotInDoha tweets, kicked off by @WeAreQatar curator Hend (@LibyaLiberty):
If it’s any consolation, Weather.com is forecasting a dip in temperatures in a few days, from 45C (113F) tomorrow to 37C (99F) on Wednesday.
Temperatures will stay in the high 30s through the weekend, but then start going up again.
Would you add anything to the hashtag? Thoughts?
we’ll need a whole new set of jokes once humidity kicks in properly!
Is this news?
Just wait until a sandstorm hits in this heat. Now THAT will be miserable.
Sandstrom is back home wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew ! 🙂
Wow… Some were so lame … Just painful to red
In summer, it’s hot, humid, and dusty here in Qatar.
Has been for many millennia.
So get over it. Move on. And get on with it. OK?
