Qatar residents are being advised to be careful on Qatar’s roads this afternoon as visibility drops due to windy, dusty weather.

In a recorded phone forecast, the Qatar Meteorology Department also warned of poor air quality, which can lead to respiratory problems for those who go outside this afternoon.

Temperatures are expected to continue falling throughout the day and drop to a high of 23C (73F) by Wednesday – some 6-10C cooler than last week.

Sudden changes in weather and uptick in dusty conditions usually spells trouble for many Qatar residents, who often report in droves to the country’s healthcare centers due to breathing-related problems.

Here are some tips to protect yourself from the sandstorm.
