A Qatar Airways flight en route to Doha from Seoul was apparently diverted to Pakistan on Thursday night after a passenger aboard went into labor, according to aviation sources.

Flight 883, which was heading to Qatar from South Korea, conducted an emergency landing at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi so that the woman could get immediate care, a source told Doha News.

Media reports say the passenger was a Qatari woman who gave birth aboard to a healthy baby boy, but that information could not be confirmed. A QR spokesman said more details would be forthcoming.
