Effective immediately, passengers will no longer be allowed to bring Samsung Galaxy Note7s onboard Qatar Airways planes or check them into luggage, the national carrier has announced.

The move follows similar bans by other airlines worldwide over safety concerns. Last week, Samsung said it was ceasing production of the phones due to their combustible batteries, and asked owners to turn off their devices immediately and seek refunds.
