A new low surface pressure front from Saudi Arabia is expected to cause windy conditions and possible rain here as early as this evening, the Qatar Meteorology Department has said.
In a statement about “unstable weather” posted on its website yesterday, which was the first day of Spring, the MET said:
“The most common clouds in this part of the year usually are thundery which will be the reason for expected thundery shower rain at places. The features of this changeable weather are sure evidence that we are in vernal equinox and entering into the spring.”
Though scattered rains are known for hitting the northern part of Qatar and skipping the capital, a MET forecaster told Doha News that the city could see some precipitation tonight, and/or on Saturday and Sunday.
With the coming of the new pressure front, temperatures are expected to drop slightly from today’s high of 31C (88F), and range from 25C (77F) to 30C (86F) this week.
