The team at Doha News wishes our community a Happy Qatar National Day.
Wondering what to do on Qatar National Day? Have a look at our guide.
For those not out on the Corniche watching the parade this morning, you can tune into celebrations from home, as both Qatar Television and Al Rayyan Television are running live web streams.
What are you up to today?
Happy National Day all. Hope you have a blast.
(The man in the picture his head is not covered with his gutra, haram!)
It’s not really haram though 🙁
Happy National Day :). If your a married man or have a family. I have just returned from the cornice where I was man handled by the police for walking towards the allocated seating. I have slight deafness in my left ear and never saw the officer or heard him with the crowd. I understand the need for crowd control but I am a 46 year old Professor from the UK working at Qatar University, I know we would accommodate people in the UK at parades with a lot more respect. This is an easy problem to fix just make the parade slightly longer and make use of all the road space also if single males are a problem segregate the crowd. Its a bit sad when so many people turn up to watch the event and show their allegiance to to their new country. Was looking forward to the parade but next year please make it clear on public posters that the event is for families only.Happy National Day Qatar I’m sure my day will improve
Guess you must have just arrived in Qatar as been same problem for a number of years. Doesn’t matter where you are from, single males (ie without family in tow) will be turned away.
That isn’t exactly true. Qatari single men won’t be turned away.
Yeah Jonnie only here a couple of months its not the fact that its where I’m from its the fact that I’m probably the least threatening individual you could meet :). Don’t worry though I wont be back next year.
thank god
I like the simple and vibrant colors of the picture
My employer [a former Qatari Minister] had plans to be here in this day, but he suddenly passed away last month. I dedicate all the cheerful moments of this National Day to His Excellency with prayers for his RIP.
