Qatar police have opened an investigation after the body of a 44-year-old expat was found in the Old Airport area, the Indian Embassy told Doha News.Â
A family member has confirmed the identity of the deceased to be Akram Kadavath Peetikayil Ozhinjal.
According to Gulf Times, Akram had been missing for about a week and was last seen leaving his office on Tuesday, Oct. 18.
“The mother and brother are in touch with the embassy, and the police are investigating the case to know what happened, but nothing concrete has come out yet,” said a representative from the embassy.
The body has been moved to Hamad General Hospital’s mortuary.
Akram was a native of Kerala, and had been living in Doha with his wife and four children. He ran three translation centers, Gulf Times said.
