Oasis Cars CEO Tony Porter was recently awarded a British Empire Medal for his service to the British community in Qatar alongside 71 other individuals recognized for their work around the world.

Porter, who organizes desert trips for schoolchildren and families outside of work, told The Telegraph that he was “shocked” at the recognition.
