The country's first vegan cafe Evergreen Organics opened last week at Qanat Quartier on the Pearl-Qatar. So far, its waterside location has attracted hundreds of customers who are keen to check out its more unusual food items.
The facility was previously set up at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) during Ramadan, but will move to the mall for the next few months.
When completed, the Parisian-inspired development will have a shopping center with up to 500 retail outlets including a hypermarket, entertainment zones, restaurants and two five-star luxury hotels and serviced apartments for up to 650 guests.
Speaking to Doha News, a charity spokesman explained, “Most of these men live alone and are away from their families. All year, especially in Ramadan while they’re fasting, no one is there to take care of them and feed them like this."
The Arabian Gulf (Al Khalij Al Arabi) station on Al Rayyan Road, opposite the HMC ambulance station, will permanently close around the middle of July, an employee there told Doha News.
