The new appointments included ambassadors to Syria, Turkmenistan, Brunei Darussalam, Venezuela, Egypt, Afghanistan, Belgium, and Hungary.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, has issued a series of Amiri decrees appointing new ambassadors to several countries, marking a further step in enhancing Qatar’s international diplomatic presence and bilateral relations.
According to Amiri Diwan, “the decisions are to be implemented and take effect from their date of issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette”.
Under Amiri Decision No. (44) of 2025, Khalifa Abdullah Saad Al Mahmoud Al Sharif was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Syria.
According to Amiri Decision No. (45) of 2025, Nasser Ahmed Mohammed Al Taher was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkmenistan.
In another decree, No. (46) of 2025, Abdullah Hamad Ali Al Adham Al Marri was named Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brunei Darussalam.
Meanwhile, Amiri Decision No. (47) of 2025 appointed Salman Nabet Mubarak Abdullah Al Khulaifi as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Venezuela.
In a key diplomatic appointment, Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Abdulrahman Al Thani was named Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Egypt under Amiri Decision No. (48) of 2025.
Furthermore, Mardif Ali Mardif Ali Al Qashouti was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Afghanistan by virtue of Amiri Decision No. (49) of 2025.
Amiri Decision No. (50) of 2025 named Talal bin Almas bin Saeed Al Saleh Al Sulaiti as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Belgium.
Lastly, under Amiri Decision No. (51) of 2025, Radi Sweid bin Sweid Al Ajmi was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Hungary.
