In May, Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani visited the UK as part of a tour in the region. The visit came amid developing discussions over securing Europe’s gas supply in light of the ongoing Russian war on Ukraine.

Chad Peace Talks
This year saw Qatar succeed at bringing more than 50 Chadian sides in one place to end a long period of political turmoil. Qatar’s mediation led to the signing of the historic Doha Peace Agreement in August after five months of negotiations.
