Authorities in Qatar have announced the official Eid Al-Fitr holiday schedule for both public and private sector employees.
The Amiri Diwan said the holiday for ministries, government entities, public authorities and public institutions will begin on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, until Monday, 23 March, with work resuming on Tuesday, 24 March.
The statement added that holiday dates for the Qatar Central Bank, financial institutions under its supervision, the Qatar Financial Markets Authority and regulated financial markets will be set separately by the Governor of Qatar Central Bank.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labour confirmed that private sector employees covered by the Labour Law will receive a three-day Eid Al-Fitr holiday with full pay.
The ministry noted that if employees are required to work during the holiday, they must be compensated in accordance with overtime provisions under Article 74 of the Labour Law. The ministry also extended its congratulations to workers and employers across Qatar on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.
