The global liquefied natural gas industry will turn its attention to Doha as Qatar prepares to host the sector’s most influential gathering.
Under the patronage of Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, QatarEnergy will host the 21st International Conference & Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG2026) from 2 to 5 February 2026 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
The event marks the second time Qatar has hosted the prestigious conference, reinforcing its position as the global home of LNG.
Under the theme “Leading LNG: Powering Today and Tomorrow,” the conference will draw participants from more than 80 countries, including energy ministers, industry executives, and innovators.
Delegates will explore market trends, technological developments, and LNG’s critical contribution to energy security and the global transition to cleaner fuels.
Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, who is also the president and CEO of QatarEnergy, said: “The State of Qatar is proud to host the 21st International Conference & Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas for the second time in this event’s history. It is our honour to welcome the international energy community for a meaningful conversation on the vital role and future of this reliable and affordable source of energy”.
Minister Al-Kaabi added: “The responsible development of Qatar’s natural gas reserves, coupled with enduring partnerships and strategic investments, has positioned QatarEnergy as a major global LNG player and helped establish LNG as the cornerstone of growth and the primary vehicle for achieving fair and equitable access to cleaner energy.”
The programme will feature panel discussions, debates, and presentations from leading companies across the LNG value chain. Key figures confirmed to speak include Darren Woods, CEO of ExxonMobil; Wael Sawan, CEO of Shell; Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of TotalEnergies; and Ryan Lance, CEO of ConocoPhillips, among others.
Alongside the conference, the exhibition will span 35,000 square metres and host around 300 companies from shipping, trading, technology, infrastructure, and other sectors. This large-scale gathering will offer opportunities for networking, collaboration, and insights into the innovations driving the LNG industry forward.
LNG2026 is expected to shape discussions on the sector’s future, highlighting how liquefied natural gas will continue to play a pivotal role in meeting global energy demand while advancing sustainable energy solutions.
