In a series of high-level meetings and humanitarian engagements in Cairo, Maryam Al Misnad, Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation, reinforced Qatar–Egypt relations and received a prestigious award in recognition of her contributions to children’s welfare and sustainable development.
During her official visit to Egypt, Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maryam Al-Misnad met with Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt on Tuesday where both sides discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between Doha and Cairo.
According to Qatar’s Ministery of Foreign Affairs, “the meeting discussed cooperation relations between the two countries, ways to support and enhance them, and a number of topics of common interest”.
Al-Misnad also held talks with Maya Morsi, Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity, to examine ongoing humanitarian collaboration, particularly in delivering aid to the Gaza Strip.
The two ministers discussed implementing future joint projects and enhancing cooperation in social development and humanitarian fields, underscoring the importance of united regional efforts to support vulnerable communities.
As part of her visit, Al-Misnad toured the 57357 Children’s Cancer Hospital Foundation in Cairo, one of the largest paediatric oncology centres in the region.
She met with medical staff, patients, and administrators, learning about the hospital’s initiatives to advance cancer treatment for children.
The Qatari minister also received detailed briefings on Qatar-Egypt cooperation in healthcare, focusing on knowledge exchange and joint initiatives to improve medical services for young patients.
During the visit, she expressed admiration for the hospital’s model of humanitarian work, describing it as “a symbol of how determination and science can unite in service of humanity”.
In recognition of her humanitarian efforts, Al-Misnad was presented with the “Shield of Life” by the 57357 Children’s Cancer Hospital Foundation. The honour was awarded by Sherif Abou El Naga, CEO and Director General of the hospital, as a tribute to her work in supporting children’s health and development, empowering youth, and promoting global partnerships focused on human welfare.
