In a significant step towards advancing Qatar’s digital capabilities, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force “Lekhwiya,” presided over the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Ministry of Interior and global technology leader Cisco.
The new accord aims to deepen cooperation in cutting-edge areas such as artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and smart security technologies.
The signing ceremony, held on Monday, brought together senior representatives from the two sides, and was also attended by Chuck Robbins, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cisco Systems.
Representing the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier Jassim Al Buhashim Al-Sayed, Director General of Communications and Information Systems, signed the agreement, while David Meads, Cisco Vice President for the Middle East, Africa, Romania, and the CIS region, signed on behalf of the company.

The agreement is aligned with the Interior Ministry’s broader objectives to accelerate digital transformation and adopt more advanced, integrated systems that bolster national security capabilities.
