QRI becomes the first facility of Hamad Medical Corporation to earn international recognition.
The Qatar Rehabilitation Institute has been awarded international accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, becoming the first Hamad Medical Corporation facility to earn the recognition.
The accreditation was given for demonstrating “the highest levels of clinical quality, safety, and operational excellence,” HMC said in a statement on Sunday.
“It confirms that the people of Qatar have access to world-class rehabilitation services, delivered by dedicated professionals in a facility that meets the highest global standards,” Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Suwaidi, managing director of HMC, said in the statement.
Recognised globally as the gold standard in rehabilitation care, CARF accreditation is only awarded to select facilities that meet its rigorous requirements in patient-centred rehabilitation care coupled with being at the forefront of technological advancements.
A survey team from CARF, which conducted the quality checks, commended QRI’s “interdisciplinary care model, outcome-driven services, and unwavering commitment to continuous quality improvement”.
QRI was awarded a maximum three-year accreditation in its maiden attempt, in what is an “exceptional and rare” achievement, according to HMC.
“Achieving CARF accreditation for the first time is an extraordinary accomplishment and a tribute to every member of the QRI team,” said Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad, the deputy chief for rehabilitation and the medical director and CEO of QRI.
“It reflects years of strategic planning, investment in innovation, and above all, the hard work and passion of our staff. I am incredibly proud of this achievement, which positions QRI as a national and regional leader in rehabilitation.”
The institute offers several state-of-the-art rehabilitation facilities, including inpatient, day care, outpatient, and home-based rehabilitation, as well as heads a nationwide community rehabilitation program, in line with the Third National Development Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030, HMC’s statement added.
