The office will provide more access to Qatari products in the Saudi market, allowing Qatari companies the chance to further expand into the region.
Qatar inaugurated its Exports Office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday as part of its latest efforts to increase access to its products in the Saudi market.
Qatar’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Bandar bin Mohammed Al Attiyah told Qatar News Agency that the development is a sign of the strong relations between the two nations in various fields, “especially the economy”.
Al Attiyah added that the office was opened following comprehensive studies and discussions about the future of the Saudi market.
The office will also facilitate the streamlined entry of Qatari products into the Kingdom, promoting opportunities for Qatari companies to invest and expand operations into Saudi Arabia’s various sectors.
Al Attiyah further stated that the office would help build long-term trade partnerships that enhance the growth of trade between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
The Qatar Exports Office is the first under Qatar’s Export Development and Promotion Agency (TASDEER).
In January, Qatar Development Bank organised an event in Riyadh that attracted key stakeholders from both the Qatari and Saudi sides to boost the volume of trade exchange between the two nations.
Qatari companies had the opportunity to learn about the Saudi market and business environment through field visits and bilateral meetings, aimed at identifying opportunities for cooperation. A total of 60 Qatari companies from various sectors were present at the event.
QDB Senior Financial Advisor Mubarak Al Hajri shared during the January visit that the Qatar office had initially begun operations online in 2023, registering over 60 Qatari companies in Saudi Arabia.
Director of the Qatar Exports Office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah Ali Al Obaidli, praised the office for serving as a support platform that connects Qatari products with the Saudi market, the largest in the Gulf.
During the inauguration, Al Obaidli emphasised that the office would help Qatari exporters establish important trade partnerships within the market.
