Qatari high-jumper Mutaz Barshim became the first athlete to ever win an event at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships for the fourth time in a row.
The 24-year-old cleared 2.35m (7.7 feet) in the high jump event yesterday at the Aspire Zone, but was unable to beat his existing indoor high-jump record of 2.41m. However, he did say “It’s a home gold. It cannot get any better than this.”
