The reorganization comes as the group posted declining profits in six out of the previous eight quarters. Meanwhile, the boss of Qatar's other telecoms firm Vodafone has spoken out about its recent poor performance.
Only about a third of consumers asked said they felt that the prices for internet and phone services here are competitive, according to a customer satisfaction study conducted for Qatar’s Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA).
Qatar's competing telecoms have launched bids to offer mobile internet speeds of up to 375 mbps with new infrastructure upgrades. However, no mobile devices here currently appear to support the technology.
Prices for various roaming mobile services will drop between 8 and 85 percent by April 2019, based on currently posted prices and a schedule of fees released by Qatar's Communication Regulatory Authority.
