Decisions taken by the country’s cabinet in the opening months were in line with the broader strategies and sustainable development, the PM said.
Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, hailed his cabinet’s avidity to adopt policies that support sustainable development in the first quarter of 2025.
The cabinet meetings held in the first three months emphasised boosting economic diversification, investment in talent and making the state institutions more efficient, which Sheikh Mohammed praised, according to the Qatar News Agency.
Adoption of such policies was sought to be aligned with Qatar’s international commitments, which include a focus on economic cooperation, sustainability and regional stability, according to Sheikh Mohammed.
Cabinet decisions, hence, focused on a range of modernisation and development issues in line with the seven strategic outcomes pinpointed in the country’s Third National Strategy (NSD3).
The final of three National Development Strategies launched as a roadmap to attaining the Qatar National Vision 2030, the NSD3 aims to gain seven specific outcomes which focus on economic diversification, all-around development of the citizens, as well as increased quality of life in the country.
“Through NDS3, Qatar will transition into the next phase of its development, shifting towards a sustainable economic future driven by its citizens, residents, and the private sector, while maintaining our values, identity, and social fabric,” Sheikh Mohammed has been quoted as saying by the National Planning Council.
According to the cabinet’s General Secretariat, 15 decisions regarding sustainable economic growth were taken during the first three months of 2025, followed by 10 on readying a future-ready workforce and four on fiscal sustainability.
Five decisions related to building a cohesive society, 23 on enhancing the quality of life, six on environmental sustainability and 18 on government excellence were also taken.
