Qatar University has admitted around 6,000 students for Fall 2025, with 70% Qataris, ahead of a new semester featuring online orientation and upcoming scholarship results.
Qatar University has announced the admission of approximately 6,000 undergraduate students for the Fall 2025 semester.
The cohort includes newly admitted students, transfer applicants, second-degree seekers, visiting students, and those registering for individual courses. Qatari nationals make up 70% of the total intake.
Dr. Mohamed Diab, Vice President for Student Affairs, welcomed the incoming class, expressing pride in the university’s role in shaping future leaders.
“We are pleased to welcome our students for the Fall 2025 semester and wish them a successful and fulfilling academic journey,” he said, describing their enrolment as a reflection of their trust in Qatar’s national university.
He emphasised Qatar University’s commitment to delivering a holistic educational experience that nurtures students’ academic, personal, and professional development.
“We are committed to providing a comprehensive educational experience that goes beyond academics,” he added, noting the importance of student support systems, digital resources, and extracurricular opportunities.
Dr. Diab encouraged all applicants to check their admission decisions via their electronic accounts on the university’s website. He clarified that admission is competitive and based on college capacity each semester. Meeting minimum academic requirements does not automatically guarantee acceptance, and those not admitted this term are welcome to apply again in Spring 2026.
As part of the enrolment process, Qatar University will launch an online orientation programme starting 17 August 2025. The initiative is designed to introduce new students to university services, policies, and tools in a convenient virtual format.
The orientation platform includes interactive videos and presentations aimed at familiarising students with academic systems, digital platforms, advising services, and course registration procedures. Classes for Fall 2025 will begin on 24 August, with the add/drop deadline set for 28 August.
In terms of scholarships, the university is set to announce results on 14 August 2025 for various funding opportunities, including merit-based scholarships, the Amir’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence, awards for outstanding GCC students with Qatari secondary certificates, and scholarships for children of university staff. These are available to both new and continuing students, including international applicants.
Qatar University continues to attract top students to its 12 colleges, offering 51 undergraduate and 53 postgraduate programmes across disciplines such as medicine, engineering, law, pharmacy, and Islamic studies. The university’s offerings are aligned with national development goals and are supported by 18 research centres.
In addition to academics, the university promotes student development through various extracurricular programmes, clubs, and support services aimed at equipping students with life skills and professional readiness.
