In a circular addressed to hotel establishment managers, the authority requested that accommodation be extended from 28 February until airport operations resume and the airspace reopens.
Qatar Tourism stated that the safety, security and well-being of all visitors remain among its highest priorities. The authority confirmed it would bear the extra expenses incurred as a result of the extended stays.
