The forum will feature key discussions on sustainable development, innovative investment opportunities, and strategic partnerships to drive Qatar’s economic growth.
The fifth edition of the Qatar Economic Forum (QEF), convened in collaboration with Bloomberg and Media City Qatar, will be held in Doha from 20 to 22 May 2025.
Held under the theme “The Road to 2030: Transforming the Global Economy”, the forum will explore critical global economic challenges and opportunities, aligning closely with Qatar’s National Vision 2030.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Jassim Mohamed Al Khori, CEO of Media City Qatar, said the forum continues to serve as a strategic platform for addressing pressing global issues. “Over the past five years, it has contributed to answering critical questions surrounding energy security, global trade, and the complexities of globalisation,” he said.
This year’s edition is expected to draw over 2,500 participants, including heads of state, policymakers, CEOs, and industry leaders from around the world. Discussions will centre on five core themes: geopolitics and trade, business outlook, energy and security, sports and entertainment, and advances in technology and artificial intelligence.
Among the notable speakers confirmed are Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, Founder and CEO of KBW Ventures; Huda Al-Lawati, Founder and CEO of Aliph Capital; William E. Ford, Chairman and CEO of General Atlantic; and Jayne Hrdlicka, CEO of Virgin Australia.
In addition to high-level talks, the forum will feature the signing of 20 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and a series of cultural and artistic events. The aim is to foster not only economic dialogue but also broader diplomatic and cultural engagement.
Since its inception, the forum has contributed QAR 177.5 million to Qatar’s GDP and created over 900 job opportunities across various sectors, according to Al Khori.
Positioned as a hub for international dialogue and strategic cooperation, the Qatar Economic Forum seeks to strengthen the country’s role as a catalyst for global economic transformation and a convening space for impactful partnerships.
