Thousands of residents took advantage of the holiday yesterday by going out and enjoying planned activities at Katara Cultural Village, West End Park, the Corniche and several other venues.
Many reported enjoying the day with friends and family – though some of those brave enough to go out around sunset or after dark expressed frustration after getting stuck in the inevitable National Day traffic jams.

For those still looking for things to do, Darb Al Saai is open through tomorrow, and a few other events are being held over the long weekend.
How did you end up spending your National Day? Thoughts?
I decided to cycle down the Corniche to watch the fireworks, advertised here as being at 10pm…..I leave home at 9.15pm…..

I get there and the pyros had started at 8pm…..! Grateful and all for the (potential) free show, but seriously, sort out the national problem of promotion and advertisement! Might be good to have all that kind of stuff sorted before the World Cup starts….just saying.
the website you got your info is not official , you should used http://www.qatar.qa/english/default .. the website claiming to be http://www.qatarnationalday.qa is made by qatarliving ….
its not Orgnaziers fault that other websites are posting news and announcments from their own imaginations
