MET: Dust, rain and wind to tease Qatar through next week

After a relatively calm few days, “unstable” weather is returning to Doha just in time for the weekend, the Qatar Meteorology Department has said.

Expect clouds to form and thunderstorms to hit the country by tonight, the MET said in a statement on its website, adding:

The Department of Meteorology urges everyone to take caution of sudden activity in the wind during thundershowers, which leads to rising sea waves and also visibility might decreases due to blowing dust.

Last week, residents witnessed a lightning storm and sporadic rains that left freshly washed cars spotted with dust.

The MET has said the rising temperatures, accompanied by rain and strong winds, is Qatar’s way of bringing in summer, which officially begins on May 1.

Will the weird weather affect your weekend plans?

Thoughts?
