As temperatures climb and Qatar begins its transition from winter to spring/summer, meteorologists are forecasting a period of “unstable weather” over the next few weeks.
That translates into scattered rain, possibly thunderstorms, as well as dusty, windy conditions, the Qatar Meteorology Department said in a statement.
Light rains have already been observed in the northern part of the country, and also some parts of Doha:

But showers look more likely in the capital tomorrow and on Tuesday, according to Steff Gaulter, senior meteorologist at Al Jazeera English.
Speaking to Doha News, she added:
“Even when that clears, there could well be a few showers over the following few days until more rain next week.”
Precipitation isn’t unusual for this time of the year, but Qatar isn’t always prepared for it. Last March, a lack of proper drainage during heavy rains led to sudden flooding on Salwa Road, causing several cars to get stuck in the deluge.
However, according to Gaulter, this week’s forecast expects a more moderate downpour.
For the rest of March, temperatures are expected to hover between 26C (79F) and 28C (82F).
