UPDATE: Landmark Mall remains open today, contrary to reports. A company representative says its closure for non-compliance to safety standards is just a rumor, and that it will not be closing.

Earlier Qatar Cinemas had posted on its Facebook page:

Dear Fans, We are sorry to inform you that Landmark & our Cinema at landmark is Closed temporarily for safety reasons & will be open soon. We would like to welcome you in our Royal Plaza, The Mall & Gulf/Doha Cinemas.

Wish you a happy day!

Qatar Cinemas later clarified that ONLY the cinema is closed, not the mall itself, saying it will reopen “soon.”

It remains uncertain when City Center mall, which was closed on Friday for not adhering to safety standards, will open.

And Villaggio, which was hit by a fire that killed 19 people last month, remains closed indefinitely.
