Qatar confirms three injuries after intercepting Iranian ballistic missiles targeting the country, as the IRGC claims it struck Al Udeid Air Base.
Qatar Armed Forces intercepted multiple ballistic missiles targeting the country on Sunday morning, Qatar’s Ministry of Defence said, following reports of explosions heard across Doha and the activation of national emergency alert systems.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that three people, including a child, were injured by debris from interception operations carried out in response to the attacks.
The injured are receiving medical treatment, while security authorities and Civil Defence teams continue operations under approved emergency response plans to protect public safety.
The ministry said national warning and alert systems are activated only when additional urgent precautionary measures are required.
It urged residents to rely on official sources for information, avoid spreading rumours or unverified reports, and warned that sharing false information could result in legal action.
Al Jazeera reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had targeted Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base, claiming the operation destroyed a fighter aircraft maintenance and repair centre as well as a command-and-control facility.
Qatar’s Ministry of Defence had not confirmed claims of damage to the base but said its air defence systems successfully intercepted incoming missile threats.
Earlier on Sunday, Qatar’s emergency alert system issued two public safety warnings at approximately 5:36 am and 6:47 am, advising residents to take precautionary measures as authorities responded to the situation.
Authorities continue to monitor developments and have called on the public to remain calm and follow official guidance.
