The Arab League said that Iran’s attacks on Gulf states and Jordan on Saturday were a blatant violation of national sovereignty.
The Arab League on Saturday condemned Iran’s ballistic missile attacks on several Arab countries, describing them as a “blatant violation” of national sovereignty and international law.
The statement highlighted attacks on the territories of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan.
The league called the attacks a flagrant violation of the “sovereignty of countries that advocate for peace and strive for stability, and have not participated in the war.”
The League expressed full solidarity with the affected states and supported measures taken to protect their people and sovereign lands.
It warned of the dangers posed by the ongoing escalation and called on the broader international community to expedite efforts to de-escalate tensions and pursue constructive dialogue before further harm unfolds.
The condemnations mirror broader regional pushback against the Iranian strikes.
Earlier on Saturday, Israel and the United States struck Iran’s capital, Tehran, despite ongoing negotiations aimed at diffusing regional tensions.
U.S. President Donald Trump claimed the attacks were aimed at “eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime”.
In retaliation, Iran launched a series of missile attacks on U.S. bases in Gulf states, including Qatar, which hosts the largest American military asset in the Middle East — the Al Udeid Air Base.
