The agreement aims to reinforce shared commitments to sustainable development and youth empowerment.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) and the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sunday to implement community educational programmes focused on enhancing student skills and promoting social responsibility.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Minister of Education and Higher Education, Lolwah Al-Khater, and QRCS President, Youssef bin Ali Al Khater.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, the Undersecretary of MoEHE, emphasised the importance of this partnership, noting that humanitarian and volunteer work is a vital aspect of education.
“This partnership is an essential part of the ministry’s strategy, as we believe that building a human being is not achieved solely through academic education, but through enhancing their human and social values and developing their life skills, which contribute to shaping their integrated personality,” he said.

The collaboration focuses on strengthening partnerships in humanitarian, volunteer, and educational work. It aims to raise awareness among students while promoting a culture of giving and social responsibility.
Both parties are committed to implementing a series of initiatives designed to nurture these values within the student community, as reported by MoEHE.
Volunteerism and humanitarian values
The MoU outlines key projects, including the “QRCS School Programme,” which enhances students’ skills in emergency response, health awareness, and social responsibility. The programme covers disaster preparedness, first aid, and risk reduction, while promoting volunteerism in schools.
QRCS also aims to raise such awareness through initiatives like the “Gift Initiative” for in-kind donations and the “Future Investor Initiative,” which encourages savings, charity, and donations.
QRCS Secretary-General Faisal Mohammed Al Emadi highlighted the organisation’s commitment to instilling humanitarian values in students. This partnership reflects their belief in the complementary roles of education, humanitarian work, and volunteering in shaping a responsible and compassionate generation.
The agreement, which includes field visits to hospitals and community institutions, will last for three years, with a renewal option.
