Qatar unveiled its 2030 Asian Games logo and slogan, as the country awaits the results of its bid to host the tournament for the second time.
Qatar’s “Your Gateway” slogan, along with the new Doha 2030 Asian Games logo, was projected onto the iconic Qatar National Museum on Tuesday, as part of the Gulf state’s second bid to host the games following on from the successful 2006 tournament in Doha.
The logo was unveiled virtually by Qatar Olympics Committee’s [QOC] President and Doha 2030 Asian Games Bid Committee Chair Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa, alongside Qatari athletes and committee representatives.
“Our bid is born out of our strong belief that sport has the power to drive social change and foster peace and understanding. The unique role sport can play in keeping us connected and inspiring hope has been so clearly demonstrated this year during the global pandemic. It has only strengthened our determination to use Doha 2030 as a gateway to a brighter future for Qatar and the Asian Olympic family,” says Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al-Thani.
The slogan is said to encapsulate Qatar’s view of the Doha 2030 Asian Games as a “gateway” to risk-free, excellent and sustainable games. The vibrant logo’s design exhibits a blend of Qatar’s heritage, modernity and diverse culture, the GCO website said.
“Building on the legacy of the Doha 2006 Asian Games, we want to deliver a sustainable, inspirational Games plan that provides certainty and an enduring legacy for Asian sport. We want to deliver an Asian Games that supports development throughout the continent and provides a platform that connects all nations and celebrates our peaceful diversity,” says Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al-Thani.
In the last 15 years, Qatar has hosted more than 500 major international sports events, conferences and training camps — including the 15th edition of the Asian Games in 2006.

“We have a proven track-record in delivering world-class events to the very-highest standards. And we can deliver a world-class Asian Games that set a sustainable blueprint for future bids,” says Jassim Rashid Al-Buenain, CEO of the Doha 2030 Bid Committee and QOC Secretary General.
Qatar entered the bid earlier this year in April, along with Saudi Arabia — which imposed a land, air and sea on the country in 2017. The decision on where the Asian Games will be held is expected to be announced at the Olympic Council of Asia General Assembly meeting on November 29.
“An Asian Games in Doha in 2030 would have all these great qualities and more. Athletes would benefit from the experience Qatar has got from hosting hundreds of world-class sports events,” says Nasser Al-Attiyah, Olympic and Asian Games gold medallist said.
