Qatar’s new National Health Strategy 2017-2022 is expected to launch in June and will focus on providing healthcare to the country’s large population of blue-collar expats.
Quoting Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani of the Ministry of Public Health, the Qatar Tribune said that more free medical testing, health education and medicines will be provided to this segment of the population in the coming years. All of Qatar’s expats were supposed to get health insurance under the Seha program this year, but that program was scrapped for fiscal reasons.
