A health clinic that assisted thousands of Syrians in need has been shut down after being bombed on Saturday, the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has announced.

Two patients were killed in the attack on the Aleppo-based health center and eight others were injured, QRCS said in a statement.

The charity added that it “calls upon the international community to intervene and put an end to such direct attacks on medical and health facilities in Syria.”

Children dying

It has been a deadly week for the people of rebel-held eastern Aleppo.

According to Al Jazeera English, more than 400 people have been killed (at least 96 of those children) in the most recent aerial bombardment attacks.

The US has held Russia responsible for some of the worst of the bombing, which included air strikes on two hospitals.

QRCS condemned those attacks and has called the bombing of its own clinic a war crime.

The charity continues its work in other parts of Syria. Donations to help its humanitarian efforts can be made by calling 16002, visiting its various kiosks at malls or visiting its website for more information.
