The $25 million (QR91 million) KidzMondo project will feature around 60 scaled-down businesses in an 8,000 sq meter, two-story complex inside the currently under-construction mall.
"The mall will open its doors for trading on Sept. 29. This will be the entire mall – we took the decision to go for the whole thing," says Kareem Shamma, the CEO of BASREC - the mall’s owner and developer.
It is among 32 new eateries and stores that have just been confirmed to set up shop in the US$1.2 billion (QR4.37 billion) mall, which is expected to open next fall.
Located west of Education City on the Dukhan Highway, the US$1.2 billion (QR4.37 billion) Mall of Qatar is one of several large-scale shopping centers scheduled to open in the coming years.
According to the Mall of Qatar (MOQ), the upcoming Hamleys department store will span two floors and host toy events, character visits, theatrical elements and daily parades when it opens here.
The $824 million under-construction mall, situated west of Education City on the Dukhan Highway, has signed a deal with Lebanon-based Kidz Holding to bring children's center KidzMondo to Doha.
When it opens next fall, DFC is also expected to be home to a space-themed role play zone, an e-sports gaming arena, F1 and flight simulators and a snow park. Many of those options were originally supposed to be at the Mall of Qatar.
