Motorists who have been putting off paying their old traffic tickets will have a little bit longer to catch a break on their fines.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior‘s traffic department told Doha News that motorists will be eligible until July 7 for a 50 percent discount on certain violations incurred prior to Dec. 31, 2015. Officials introduced the offer – which was scheduled to expire today – in January as part of a bid to get more people to pay off long-standing traffic violations.
