After nearly six months of illness, prominent Islamic scholar Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi has returned to the pulpit, delivering a Friday sermon in Doha urging the leaders of Yemen and Syria to step down.
“Two more revolutions are heading to the final point. In Yemen nothing is left. We do not understand what the current regime is waiting for; over the last seven months, number of children and women are on the streets demanding change,” he said, as reported by the Peninsula.
After thanking God for restoring his health, Qaradawi also talked about “tyrant rulers” in other Arab countries that have seen uprisings, including Egypt, Tunisia and Libya.
Qaradawi also expressed disapproval of clashes between Muslims and Christians in Egypt, according to the Gulf Times.
The sheikh said the two groups “all prayed together in Tahrir Square” and “therefore there should not be a place for differences among them.”
