Residents are advised to “be careful” this weekend as strong winds, swirling dust and low visibility are expected through Saturday, the Meteorology Department has warned.
Windy conditions are expected to pick up later today and peak on Friday around noon, reducing visibility to 3km or less.Â
Saturday will be better, but not by much, says Steff Gaulter, senior meteorologist at Al Jazeera English:
@halalcomedy Unpleasant sand bbq on Friday evening. Winds easing through the night. Still blustery on Sat but not as bad.

Breeze notwithstanding, the heat will prevail, the MET said in a statement on its website:
Temperatures are expected to continue within its normal averages which is early 40’s noon time and late 20’s at night. But a relative feeling of a pleasant breeze is expected at night, and that is due to the nature of the dry northerly winds.
Will the wind and sand affect your weekend plans?
Thoughts?
