The Qatar Meteorology Department is advising caution as wind speeds across Doha pick up this week and dusty conditions and low visibility ensue. In a tweet yesterday, the MET said:
The warning of strong wind and high sea is still inforce tomorrow, Please take care
— أرصاد قطر (@qatarmd)
Wind speeds reached 28 knots in the city yesterday, and are expected to be almost as high today, a forecaster told Doha News. It will die down to 10 to 15 knots in the evening, but increase again during the daytime for the next four days.
That means decreased visibility due to swirling dust is expected on the roads through Saturday. Coupled with the heat – the maximum temperature is forecast to reach 45C (113F) today – staying indoors as much as possible is likely a good bet.
Have you eaten any sand today? Thoughts?
