Temperatures in Qatar are expected to climb steadily this week, reaching the mid-to-high 30Cs by Saturday, the Qatar Meteorology Department has said.
The south and southwest parts of the country could even see the thermometer hit 40C (104F), the MET added in a statement.
There will be a slight breeze over the weekend, and light rains may sprinkle over the northern part of Qatar by Saturday evening, it said.
A MET forecaster told Doha News that temperatures will fall after the weekend, but it will still be hot.
A “large temperature contrast” between the days and nights are expected to continue throughout the month, the MET said.
