Those tired of the heat and humidity that has settled over Doha these days may want to consider taking a trip up north.
According to the Qatar Meteorology Department, moderate to strong rainfall is expected in the northern areas of the country over the next few days.
According to the Peninsula, people living in that part of Qatar – including in Al Nasrania, Dukhan, Al Ghazlania and Al Atooriya areas – already had a taste of rain yesterday afternoon.
And in a statement on its website, the MET said more precipitation is in the forecast. It added:
Usually at this time of the year with the humid Easterly wind, the low pressure starts to extend towards the country which helps to form the local cumulus clouds from midday until the time before sunset.
A meteorologist also told the Peninsula that temperatures should drop significantly this month, especially after mid-September.
Did you spot any raindrops yesterday? Thoughts?
