MEC fines 18 jewelry outlets in Qatar for non-compliance

Some 18 jewelry outlets in Qatar have been fined QR5,000 each for failing to comply to a new list of regulations regarding the sale and display of their wares.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce said the shops also had their sales licenses temporarily revoked for not adhering to the consumer protection law. It added that shops should issue “real discounts and avoid any false discounts or any similar practices that can harm the consumer.”
