The transition from summer to winter in Qatar continues, with rains finally hitting Doha today after storms struck several other parts of the country this month.

A rare enough event, rain in this desert climate is always a cause of celebration for many Doha residents, but also consternation.

The rain and relatively high humidity is expected to continue until at least sunset, forecasters at the Qatar Meteorology Department told Doha News. Temperatures should fall to 29C (84F) tonight.
