Patients at Hamad Medical Corp. (HMC) hospitals are putting their own health at risk when they present other people’s health cards as their own, doctors have said.

This “alarming trend” is illegal and can make it difficult for healthcare providers to properly make a diagnosis, because the card is tied to a patient’s medical history and includes information about blood type, allergies and previous surgical procedures, HMC said in a statement.
