A fire appears to have broken out in or around a compound near the College of the North Atlantic-Qatar this afternoon, according to multiple witnesses.
Thick black smoke could be seen in Duhail and across Gharafa near Landmark Mall.
The exact origins of the fire remain unclear. On Twitter, one Qatar resident said the fire was coming from workers’ portacabins near the Al Jelaiah Compound. Another said it involved a water tank.
UPDATE | 3:30pm Eyewitnesses confirm that the fire is now under control, but it is unclear if there were any injuries.
